About Silvia Sánchez
Silvia Sánchez represents the contemporary evolution of landscape painting in northern Argentina. Trained by the Tucumán master Luis Lobo de la Vega, her work transcends traditional figuration to explore a synthetic expressionism where the local takes center stage.
As the founder of La Solariega, the only high-mountain art gallery in Tucumán, Silvia has created an unprecedented cultural enclave that acts as a bridge between the purity of the Calchaquí landscape and cosmopolitan audiences.
Silvia Sánchez, born in Buenos Aires in 1955, is a visual artist and cultural manager.
Among her most recent exhibitions are “Equilátero”, at the Hoy en el Arte gallery in Buenos Aires in 2024; “Itinerantes”, at the Mamoré gallery in Salta in 2024; and at the Museo de Arte Sacro in Tucumán in 2022; and “Silvestris”, at the Centro Cultural Rouges in 2017.
She has participated in collective exhibitions at La Solariega gallery in Tafí del Valle, including "Cerca del cielo" ( Sánchez, Picato, and Lupión; 2024); "Lo procesual y lo orgánico" (Sánchez and Muñoz; 2025); and "La parte del todo" (Robinson, Sánchez, and Bartolucci; 2026). "Huellas de artistas" at Fausto Gallery in San Miguel de Tucumán in 2022; and “Geografías recortadas" at the OSDE Foundation in Yerba Buena in 2018.
She was selected in numerous salons, including the Salón de Yerba Buena in 2025, receiving the first prize in the Provincial SADOP Salon in 2018. In 2017, she participated in the Florence Biennale and the International Contemporary Art Biennale of Argentina.
Since 2023, she has managed the art gallery and independent cultural space La Solariega in Tafí del Valle, Tucumán.
